Salman Khan's Sikander gets off to a slow start, earns Rs 26 crore on day 1

In spite of the buzz generated by the film, Sikander's opening-day box-office collections were modest for a Salman Khan movie, earning a modest Rs 26 crore, based on a report filed by box-office tracker Sacnilk.

A comparison with previous films

Although this is better than the opening day business of his previous film, 'Kisi Ka Bhai, Kisi Ki Jaan' (Rs 13 crore), it is less than the spectacular Rs 53 crore opening day business of 'Tiger 3'.

Occupancy rates across India

On Sunday, the film registered an overall Hindi occupancy of 20.95% in 2D and 22.96% in IMAX 2D. According to Sacnilk, Sikandar occupied the maximum at Chennai at 46.67%, followed by Bengaluru at 28%.
